NL Op vrijdag 8 en zaterdag 9 oktober zal Cavia 's avonds geheel in het teken staan van het werk van award-winnende kunstenaar, experimentele filmmaker, animator en holograficus Eric Leiser. Er zullen twee verschillende vertoningen plaatsvinden met veel korte films en op zaterdag ook een lange film. Hij zal zelf ook aanwezig zijn voor een Q&A na afloop. In de foyer zal RELICS te bewonderen zijn: een tentoonstelling van analoge reflectie-hologramsculpturen, diorama's met projectie, tekeningen en houtsneden van Eric Leiser.

Eric Leiser werkt in New York en is geboren in Californië. Als alumni van het experimentele animatieprogramma CalArts werd hij begeleid door programmamaker/filmmaker/animator Jules Engel. Na zijn afstuderen aan CalArts werd hij begeleid door kunstenaar/filmmaker Jan Svankmajer in Praag, CZ. Eric maakt ingewikkelde werken van animatiefilm, beeldhouwkunst, holografie en schilderkunst, samen met filminstallaties waarin animatie, schilderkunst, beeldhouwkunst, holografie en live performance zijn geïntegreerd.


EN On Friday 8 and Saturday 9 October, Cavia will be all about the work of award-winning artist, experimental filmmaker, animator and holographer Eric Leiser. There will be two different screenings with lots of short films and a feature film on Saturday. He will also be present for a Q&A afterwards. In our foyer you'll be able to admire RELICS: an exhibition of analog reflection hologram sculptures, dioramas with projection, drawings and woodblock prints by Eric Leiser.

Eric Leiser works in New York and is born in California. An alumni of CalArts experimental animation program, he was mentored by program creator/filmmaker/animator Jules Engel. After graduating from CalArts, he was mentored by artist/filmmaker Jan Svankmajer in Prague, CZ. Eric creates intricate works of animated film, sculpture, holography and painting along with film installation integrating animation, painting, sculpture, holography and live performance.

NL Apocalypsis speelt zich af in een parallel universum dat een zwart gat binnengaat. Een vrouw die het boek Revelations (Onthullingen) leest heeft visioenen van de Apocalypse.
