EN Like every year, the end of summer only means one thing at Filmhuis Cavia: Moons is back!
During the first weekend of September, we will be hosting the seventh edition of our outdoor film festival, featuring not only Oscar-nominated features and local eye-opening shorts, but also music, food and performance, making for a truly special experience.
Once again, we will try to spotlight some of the diversity that makes up Cavia’s many identities, celebrating a year of incredible moments for our small cinema.
On our first evening, we will celebrate Cavia’s role as a vessel for the cinematic memory of the city with the screening of two films about remembrance and resistance, preceded by a collective VHS Jam Session exploring Cavia's archive. On the second night, we will instead recall some of the most popular program trends of the year, with a livescored silent film organized in collaboration with the Greek Film Festival, which had its first successful edition this year. This will be followed on Saturday by an evening of screenings and performances focusing on anticolonialism, recalling the many political screenings we host every year. Finally, the festival closes on Sunday with a day dedicated to animation fans of all ages, where a workshop by two local makers will be followed by a screening of one of the latest films of one of the most interesting modern European animation houses.

Documenting Absence: De toekomst is failliet + Do You Love Me + VHS Jam Session
EN The opening night of Moons presents two films which converse about the loss of personal histories through the disappearance and destruction of (urban) infrastructure. In the search of remembering fractured and fuzzy memories, or intentionally hidden histories, both films engage directly with the power of archives.
Suzzane Koopstra's short magic-realist documentary De toekomst is failiet follows Bep and Tinus, two elders who have been capturing the disappearance of their neighbourhoods over the last 60 years. By digging through their personal archives and photographic albums, the film offers a unique glimpse into Rotterdam's rapid gentrification and housing crisis.
Lara Daher's Do You Love Me reconstructs the fragmented collective memory of Lebanon, by panning through 70 years of film, TV, home videos, and photography from private collections and abandoned archives. In the words of Lara Daher "In our schools, we have no shared history book, our past remains unspoken. This absence pushed me to the archives to search, collect, and listen—to understand not only what came before, but our present."
Alongside the double-bill, visitors will be able to interact with Cavia's own VHS archive, a collection gathered over years which includes festival submissions, experimental films, underground oddities, and homemade tape compilations, among many others. This will be set up by the Archive Jam Sessions, preceding the screenings.

NL De eindeloze Rotterdamse bouwput ontvouwt zich als ontroerend schouwspel voor een allerlaatste keer. Te midden van een troosteloos decor waar ooit de verloren stad uit het puin herrees, verruilt de aarde zich voor een glanzende skyline omwille van een permanente zucht naar nieuw en beter. In een race tegen de klok doen Bep en Tinus volhardend hun laatste poging om die zo ongrijpbare tijd vast te leggen door deze na te jagen met hun camera.
EN The endless Rotterdam construction pit unfolds as a moving spectacle for the very last time. Amidst a desolate backdrop where once the lost city resurrected from the rubble, the earth swaps itself for a shiny skyline in a whimsy permanent longing for the new and the better. In a race against the clock, Bep and Tinus persist in making their last attempt to capture that elusive time, by chasing it with their camera.

NL Do You Love Me is een speelse en persoonlijke reis door het audiovisuele geheugen van Libanon, volledig opgebouwd uit archiefmateriaal. De film is een liefdesbrief aan Beiroet en omspant zeventig jaar aan film, televisie, homevideo's en fotografie. Aan de hand daarvan verkent hij de collectieve psyche van Libanon, getekend door vreugde en intimiteit, maar ook door verwoesting en verlies. Door de ogen van burgers, filmmakers en kunstenaars reconstrueert de film een gefragmenteerde geschiedenis van een land zonder nationaal archief. Tegelijkertijd viert Do You Love Me creatieve expressie als een vorm van verzet, vernieuwing en het levend houden van collectieve herinneringen.
EN Do You Love Me is a playful and personal journey through Lebanon's audiovisual memory, composed entirely of archival footage. It is a love letter to Beirut, spanning 70 years of film, TV, home videos, and photography, exploring the Lebanese collective psyche - marked by joy and intimacy, destruction and loss. Through the eyes of citizens, filmmakers and artists, the film reconstructs a fragmented history in a country without a national archive, celebrating creative expression as both resistance, renewal and a way to preserve memory.

VHS Jam Session
NL De Archive Jam Session legt het VHS-archief van Filmhuis Cavia in handen van het publiek. Een participatieve methode om het collectief en horizontaal te verkennen, één avond per keer. Het publiek wordt co-curator en spit zich door decennia aan tapes om samen iets levends te creëren.
Verspreid door de ruimte veranderen tv's met videorecorders in previewstations. In kleine groepjes doorzoeken deelnemers het archief, op zoek naar een titel, een ingeving, en komen vervolgens samen bij een tv om te bekijken wat ze vinden. Uit uren beeldmateriaal monteert elke groep vijftien minuten: een paar fragmenten, teruggespoeld en klaargezet op de gekozen momenten.
Dan neemt het grote scherm het over. Eén voor één stappen de groepen naar voren en drukken op play. Zonder script ontmoet fragment fragment, beantwoordt beeld beeld, en ontstaat er iets: een jamsession van beelden in plaats van geluid, waarbij elke riff voortbouwt op de vorige. En ondertussen vangen we een glimp op van alles wat schuilgaat in het archief van Cavia.
EN The Archive Jam Session hands Filmhuis Cavia's VHS archive over to the audience. A participatory method for exploring it collectively and horizontally, one night at a time. The audience becomes co-curator, sifting through decades of tape to build something live and shared.
Around the space, TVs and videocassette players turn into preview stations. In small groups, participants search the archive, chasing a title, a label, a hunch, then gather at a station to watch what they find. From hours of footage, each group cuts fifteen minutes: a few fragments, rewound and primed to the chosen moments.
Then the big screen takes over. One by one, groups step up and press play. Without a script, fragment meets fragment, image answers image, and something clicks: a jam session made of images instead of sound, each riff building on the last. Along the way, a glimpse of everything that lives inside Cavia's archive.

Greek Film Festival presents: A tale of a different city
EN The first collaboration between Moons of Cavia and the Greek Film Festival in the Netherlands is here! GRFFNL started in 2026 at Filmhuis Cavia and was warmly welcomed by audiences in the Netherlands. Whether they were Greek people living in the Netherlands who rarely had access to newer Greek films, or Dutch cinephiles eager to explore a new cinematic experience, films screened during the first edition of GRFFNL attracted large crowds and continue to demonstrate why Greek cinema deserves to be recognized as a significant force in contemporary film.
The festival took place in May, but there are monthly screenings of Greek films that take place in Filmhuis Cavia throughout the year. To kick off this season, we are screening Social Decay, a radical silent film about the political and ethical crises in Athens during the turbulent period between the two World Wars.
The screening of Social Decay will be accompanied by a live original score, composed and performed by acclaimed Greek film composer Dimitra Alexiou, created especially for this occasion.
You're welcome to join us beforehand for a tavli ‘workshop’ —a playful introduction to one of Greece's most beloved board games—along with some Greek snacks. After the screening, stay for drinks and a hangout in the upstairs cinema space, where we'll be serving Greek drinks.

Social Decay (Koinoniki Sapila)
Stelios Tatasopoulos | 1932 | Greece | 50’ | EN subtitles
NL Dinos is een arme student aan de universiteit. Wegens geldgebrek stopt hij met zijn studie en gaat op zoek naar een baan. Hij vindt werk als acteur bij een theatergezelschap en wordt verliefd op de hoofdrolspeelster. Nadat zij het theater verlaat op zoek naar groter succes stopt ook Dinos en belandt hij onder de arme arbeiders. Hierdoor ontdekt hij de exploitatie die arbeiders moeten weerstaan en start hij een vakbond om voor sociale rechtvaardigheid te vechten.
EN Dinos is a poor university student. Due to a lack of money, he drops out of his studies and goes looking for a job. He finds work as an actor with a theater company and falls in love with the lead actress. After she leaves the theater in search of greater success, Dinos also quits and ends up among the poor workers. Through this, he discovers the exploitation that workers must endure and starts a union to fight for social justice.
Dimitra Alexiou
NL Dimitra Alexiou is een filmcomponist, geboren in Griekenland en tegenwoordig gevestigd in Nederland. De afgelopen jaren heeft zij zich toegelegd op het componeren van filmmuziek en bouwde zij een indrukwekkend portfolio op met muziek voor diverse korte films in zowel Griekenland als Nederland. Voor iedere film vertrekt Dimitra vanuit de boodschap en de beeldtaal van het werk, om deze te versterken met een passende muzikale benadering. Ze heeft ervaring met uiteenlopende genres, waaronder sociaal drama, drama en horror, en componeerde voor documentaires, fictiefilms en animatiefilms. Haar stijl is veelzijdig en kenmerkt zich door een hybride samenspel van elektronische en akoestische elementen, waarmee zij voor elke film een eigen, onderscheidende sfeer creëert.
EN Dimitra Alexiou is a film composer, born in Greece and now based in the Netherlands. She has been working in film for the past few years, having already several credits for her work in short films, both in Greece and the Netherlands. When she is working on a film she always finds the message and style of the film, so as to support it with the best musical style possible. She has experimented with many genres (social drama, drama, horror) and many forms of films, such as documentaries, fiction films, animation films. Her style is diverse, combining a hybrid texture of electronic and acoustic elements to provide a unique atmosphere for every film.

EN For the Saturday night of Moons, we are presenting three short films that help us reflect on colonial violence through spoken and visual poetry.
The night will open and close with a performance by Dominic Pradana, a queer Amsterdam-based Indonesian writer whose work tackles questions of identity, belonging and displacement. We then move to Guinea-Bissau, where Eduardo Williams’s experimental film Parsi takes us along the lives of the queer community, accompanied by a poem by Mariano Blatt, No Es. Then, we slide over to Beirut, Lebanon, with Jocelyne Saab’s monumental documentary Beirut, My City, in which Lebanese actor, playwright and director Roger Assaf delivers a love letter to the city he is witnessing being torn apart and destroyed. Finally, in happiness, Firat Yücel takes us through the visual landscape of the internet to ruminate on the effects of consuming violence online.
Come early to have a drink in the garden and eat with us, as we will be serving food at donation prices from the famous Amsterdam West community kitchen De Sering. Throughout the night, donations can be made to the Lebanese Red Cross.
Parsi
Eduardo Williams | 2018 | Guinea-Bissau, Argentina, Switzerland | 23’ | EN subtitles
NL Met behulp van een 360-gradencamera dompelt Parsi de kijker onder in het dagelijks leven van de queer-gemeenschap in Guinee-Bissau. Geïnspireerd door het gedicht No Es van Mariano Blatt is de film een etnografische oefening in onderdompeling, waarbij de grens tussen toeschouwer en onderwerp vervaagt.
EN Using a 360-degree camera, Parsi submerges the viewer in the daily lives of the queer community in Guinea-Bissau. Guided by Mariano Blatt’s poem No Es, the film is an ethnographic exercise in immersion, blurring spectator and subject.

Beirut, My City (Beyrouth, Ma Ville)

NL De film Beirut, My City, opgenomen tijdens de Israëlische belegering van Beiroet in 1982, belicht de ontberingen, het leed en de veerkracht van het Libanese volk. De film gaat in op vragen over identiteit, verbondenheid en herinnering te midden van cycli van herhaaldelijk geweld. Hoewel de film in 1982 is gemaakt, sluiten de thema’s en beelden ervan aan bij het huidige geweld in Beiroet en Libanon in bredere zin, een voortzetting van de genocide door Israël in Gaza.
EN Filmed during the 1982 Israeli siege of Beirut, Beirut, My City speaks to the hardships, woes and strength of the Lebanese people. The film reflects on questions of identity, belonging and memory within cycles of repeated violence. While the film was made in 1982, its themes and images resonate with the current violence in Beirut and Lebanon more broadly, an expansion of Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

NL Tegenwoordig kan alles online worden geconsumeerd, ook geweld. Hoe kunnen we alles bijhouden wat we op internet lezen of zien? happiness stelt vragen bij de manier waarop we online omgaan met nieuws, geweld en genocide, hoe dit ons dagelijks leven beïnvloedt en hoe geweld verweven is met de kleinste aspecten van ons dagelijks leven. Deze desktopdocumentaire baant zich een weg door het wereldwijde web om deze vragen te onderzoeken.
EN These days, everything can be consumed online, including violence. How can we keep up with everything we read about or witness on the internet? happiness questions how we engage with news, violence and genocide online, how it affects us in our lived realities, and how violences underpins minute aspects of our daily lives. The desktop documentary travels the worldwide web to explore these questions.
Dominic Pradana
NL Dominic Pradana is een Indonesische schrijver en dichter die in Amsterdam woont. In zijn werk onderzoekt hij de emotionele structuren van kolonialisme, kapitalisme, nationaliteit en ontwikkeling, en vraagt hij zich af hoe deze overgeërfde systemen verlangens, identiteit en het gevoel van verbondenheid vormgeven. In zijn hele oeuvre wordt ‘queerness’ een vorm van verzet – een kritische blik op de overgeërfde patronen waarmee we onszelf en de werelden waarin we leven leren begrijpen. Via poëzie en proza schrijft hij als een manier om dingen te ontrafelen, waarbij hij taal gebruikt als spiegel, archief en plek van wording.
Dominic beheert ‘Surviving Paradise’ op Substack, een voortdurende verkenning van wat het betekent om een natie te erven, de beloften ervan te doorstaan en andere manieren van bestaan te verbeelden. Momenteel werkt hij aan zijn debuutroman met dezelfde titel.
EN Dominic Pradana is an Indonesian writer and poet based in Amsterdam. His work explores the emotional architectures of colonialism, capitalism, nationhood, and development, asking how these inherited systems shape desire, identity, and belonging. Across his work, queerness becomes a practice of refusal - an interrogation of the inherited scripts through which we come to understand ourselves and the worlds we inhabit. Through poetry and prose, he writes as a practice of unraveling, using language as a mirror, an archive, and a site of becoming.
Dominic runs 'Surviving Paradise' on Substack, an ongoing exploration of what it means to inherit a nation, survive its promises, and imagine other ways of being. He is currently working on his debut novel of the same name.
Ihab Khelfa
NL In Caïro geboren en gevestigd in Amsterdam, Ihab is een sound artist en dj wiens praktijk geworteld is in beweging, onderzoek en sonische storytelling. Zijn muzikale reis begon in Zuidoost-Azië, zette zich voort in Zuid-Europa en ontwikkelt zich nu verder in Amsterdam, waar hij zijn benadering van performance en muzikale exploratie blijft verdiepen.
Momenteel werkt hij aan de doorlopende reeks La Tabla La Musique, een project dat voortkomt uit zijn diepe betrokkenheid bij Arabische pop, Raï en electro-Shaabi. Vanuit deze invloeden onderzoekt Ihab manieren om opnieuw verbinding te maken met de klankwereld van zijn jeugd, terwijl hij deze versmelt met elektronische muziek uit het mondiale Zuiden. Zo vervaagt hij de grenzen tussen traditie en het hedendaagse, doordrenkt met gelaagde, acid-geïnspireerde texturen.
EN Cairo-born, Amsterdam-based sound artist and DJ, Ihab’s practice is rooted in movement, research, and sonic storytelling. His journey began across Southeast Asia, continued through Southern Europe, and now evolves in Amsterdam, where he expands his approach to performance and musical exploration.
He is currently developing an ongoing series titled La Tabla La Musique, a body of work that reflects his deep engagement with Arab pop, Raï, and electro-Shaabi. Drawing from these influences, Ihab explores ways to reconnect with his childhood sonic memory while merging it with global south electronic music, blurring the boundaries between tradition and contemporary, acid-laced textures.

De Sering
NL Gedurende de avond wordt het eten verzorgd door De Sering, het bekende buurtrestaurant en gemeenschapskeuken uit Amsterdam-West.
De Sering is opgericht vanuit de overtuiging dat sterke gemeenschappen onmisbaar zijn voor activisme en maatschappelijke verandering. Een betaalbare maaltijd brengt mensen samen en creëert de voorwaarden om deel te nemen aan de samenleving, de politiek en activistische initiatieven. Hun missie is om een netwerk van sociocratisch georganiseerde ontmoetingsplekken op te bouwen, gedragen door de deelnemers zelf. Zo willen zij gemeenschappen versterken en bijdragen aan het bestrijden van eenzaamheid en voedselonzekerheid. Naast het bereiden en serveren van maaltijden wil De Sering in de toekomst ook voorzieningen aanbieden, zoals kinderopvang en educatieve cursussen, om activisme en politieke betrokkenheid voor een breder publiek toegankelijk te maken.
EN Throughout the evening, food will be provided by De Sering, the famous community kitchen founded in Amsterdam West.
De Sering was founded on the belief that strong communities are essential for activism and progress, and that an affordable meal is the perfect way to bring people together, allowing for the material conditions that allow people to participate in society, politics, and activism. Their aim is to expand and build a network of sociocratically organised locations led by participants, fostering community and addressing loneliness and hunger. Beyond cooking and serving food, they plan to offer services like childcare and educational courses to make activism and politics more accessible.

Cavia’s Animation Night: The Wolfwalkers + Animation Workshop
Animation is one of the cinematic art forms more able to bring together different experiences and generations, enchanting both the younger and older as it goes about creating magical worlds.
For the closing of Moons we start early with an animation workshop, led by Neyshme Yanarico and Letitia Evers, where participants will be able to create their own characters and to see them come to life, transforming into a real animator for one day.
Following that, we will see how some of the best in the game do it, with a screening of Oscar-nominated feature The Wolfwalkers, by award-winning studio Cartoon Saloon, one of the most innovative and interesting realities of European animation today.
Come by early to hang out in our garden, while we serve some great food from Amsterdam famous community kitchen De Sering. Prices on donation!
Textured Storytelling and Character Design
Workshop by Neyshme Yanarico and Letitia Evers
NL Ben jij, of ken je iemand, die geïnteresseerd is in animatie en zich weleens heeft afgevraagd: "Hoe doen ze dat eigenlijk?" Kom dan naar deze workshop! We nemen je stap voor stap mee door het proces van animatie en helpen je om je eigen geanimeerde scène te maken. Ons doel is om te laten zien dat animatie veel toegankelijker is dan je misschien denkt. Je hebt geen dure materialen of professionele software nodig! Tijdens de workshop werken we met een eenvoudige, maar verrassend veelzijdige animatietechniek: paper cut-out stop-motion. Je ontdekt hoe je met niets meer dan papier, een schaar en een telefoon je fantasie tot leven kunt brengen.
De workshop wordt begeleid door Neyshme en Letitia, twee kunstenaars met een diploma in 2D-animatie. Zij laten je stap voor stap zien hoe je een stop-motionanimatie maakt. Vanuit een eerste idee werk je aan een ontwerp, vertel je een verhaal met behulp van een storyboard en gebruik je je creativiteit om iets moois te creëren – helemaal met je eigen verbeelding en handen.
Kom langs voor een inspirerende middag vol leren, maken en genieten van de kunst van paper cut-out animatie! Het enige wat je hoeft mee te nemen is een telefoon (met de gratis app APP geïnstalleerd, waarmee je jouw animatie tot leven kunt brengen) en natuurlijk je enthousiasme om iets nieuws te leren.

EN Are you, or someone you know, interested in animation and wondered; “how do they do it?” Then join us for this workshop as we guide you through the process of animation and help you create your very own animated sequence! Our goal is to show those who are intrigued but aren’t sure where or how to start exactly how accessible animation can be—No need for expensive materials or exclusive tools! The workshop will be centered around a simple yet surprisingly versatile method of animating: Paper cutout stop-motion. Here you’ll learn that even with just paper, scissors and a phone you can turn your imagination into moving art!
The workshop will be guided by Neyshme and Letitia, two artists with a degree in 2D animation, who are eager to introduce you to the world of animating, by taking the time to go through the step-by-step of creating a stopmotion piece. Starting from an idea for a design, you will tell a story with the help of a storyboard putting your creativity and effort into creating something beautiful and made with your own imagination and hands!
Join us for an afternoon spent learning, creating and enjoying the art of paper cutout animation! All you need to bring with you is a phone (with ‘APP’ installed, a free tool that will help bring your art to live) and of course your enthusiasm to learn something new!

Neyshme Yanarico & Letitia Evers
NL Neyshme Yanarico, die in 2024 is afgestudeerd aan ArtEZ University of the Arts, zij is een kunstenaar die haar vrije tijd het liefst besteedt aan het creëren van kunst. Al sinds ze voor het eerst animatiefilms en -series zag, is het haar doel geweest om te leren animeren. Ze is gefascineerd door het animatieproces en neemt graag de tijd om een eindresultaat te creëren dat niet alleen 'af' oogt, maar ook op een manier tot stand is gekomen die bij haar past. In plaats van zich te richten op perfectie of esthetiek, pleit Neyshme er hartstochtelijk voor om kunst te maken vanuit zelfexpressie, liefde voor het vak en plezier in het proces zelf. Hoewel animeren uitdagend en soms zelfs intimiderend kan zijn, laat zij zien hoe eenvoudig het is om de wereld van animatie te betreden – zonder dat daar dure materialen voor nodig zijn!
Letitia Evers is een 23-jarige kunstenares met een diploma in animatie. Kunst is al zolang ze zich kan herinneren haar passie: als kind in de woonkamer zitten tekenen terwijl zij naar tekenfilms keek, opgroeien met het internet en inspiratie opdoen bij online kunstenaars, tot ze ook daarbuiten mensen heeft gevonden met een gelijke interesse– en dat alles terwijl ze voortdurend haar vaardigheden verbeterde en haar creativiteit via diverse media verkende. Ze was altijd vastbesloten om haar droom na te jagen: toegelaten worden tot de kunstacademie–zij studeerde af in 2024 en ontving officieel haar diploma 2D Animation Design aan ArtEZ University of the Arts. Ook na haar afstuderen blijft ze vol enthousiasme bijleren over wat het betekent om kunst te maken, elk jaar leert zij het meer en meer te waarderen. Tegenwoordig gebruikt ze haar kennis om creatieve verhalen te schrijven en haar eigen personages te ontwerpen, maar bovenal geniet ze ervan om het creatieve proces met anderen te delen en mensen te helpen hun eigen creatieve kant te ontdekken!
EN Having graduated from ArtEZ the University of the Arts in 2024, Neyshme Yanarico is an artist that loves to dedicate her waking hours to creating. From the moment she started watching animated movies and shows, she has made it her goal to learn how to animate. She is in love with the process of animation and loves to take the time to make a product not only look finished, but also made in a way that she loves. Not focusing on perfectionism or aesthetics, Neyshme is an avid advocate of making art for the sake of self-expression, loving the arts, and enjoying the process. While animation is hard and can be daunting, she is here to show you how easy it is to step into the world of animation without needing expensive materials!
Letitia Evers is a 23-year old artist with a degree in Animation. Art has been her passion for as long as she can remember: From drawing while watching cartoons in the living room as a kid, growing up with access to the internet and becoming inspired by artists online, gradually finding peers offline too, while continuously improving her own skills and exploring her own creative skills through various mediums. Her mind has always been set on chasing after her dream of getting into art school–graduating in 2024 and officially getting her 2D Animation Design degree at ArtEZ University of the Arts. Even after graduating, she’s still eagerly learning about what it means to create art and finding herself appreciating it more and more with each passing year. Nowadays she’s using what she’s learned to write creative stories and design her very own characters, but more than anything, she enjoys sharing the creative process with others and helping people discover their own creative side!

NL In een tijd waarin bijgeloof en magie het dagelijks leven bepalen, waarin wolven als demonische wezens worden gezien en de natuur als iets dat bedwongen moet worden, reist een jonge leerling-jager samen met haar vader naar Ierland om de laatste wolvenroedel uit te roeien. Wanneer ze het leven redt van een wild Iers meisje, ontstaat er een bijzondere vriendschap. Die brengt haar in contact met de mysterieuze wereld van de Wolfwalkers; mensen die zich in wolven kunnen veranderen. Langzaam ontdekt ze een kant van de natuur die ze nooit eerder heeft gekend en verandert ze zelf in precies datgene wat haar vader moet vernietigen.
EN In a time of superstition and magic, when wolves are seen as demonic and nature an evil to be tamed, a young apprentice hunter comes to Ireland with her father to wipe out the last pack. But when she saves a wild native girl, their friendship leads her to discover the world of the Wolfwalkers and transform her into the very thing her father is tasked to destroy.
De Sering
NL Gedurende de avond wordt het eten verzorgd door De Sering, het bekende buurtrestaurant en gemeenschapskeuken uit Amsterdam-West.
De Sering is opgericht vanuit de overtuiging dat sterke gemeenschappen onmisbaar zijn voor activisme en maatschappelijke verandering. Een betaalbare maaltijd brengt mensen samen en creëert de voorwaarden om deel te nemen aan de samenleving, de politiek en activistische initiatieven. Hun missie is om een netwerk van sociocratisch georganiseerde ontmoetingsplekken op te bouwen, gedragen door de deelnemers zelf. Zo willen zij gemeenschappen versterken en bijdragen aan het bestrijden van eenzaamheid en voedselonzekerheid. Naast het bereiden en serveren van maaltijden wil De Sering in de toekomst ook voorzieningen aanbieden, zoals kinderopvang en educatieve cursussen, om activisme en politieke betrokkenheid voor een breder publiek toegankelijk te maken.
EN Throughout the evening, food will be provided by De Sering, the famous community kitchen founded in Amsterdam West.
De Sering was founded on the belief that strong communities are essential for activism and progress, and that an affordable meal is the perfect way to bring people together, allowing for the material conditions that allow people to participate in society, politics, and activism. Their aim is to expand and build a network of sociocratically organised locations led by participants, fostering community and addressing loneliness and hunger. Beyond cooking and serving food, they plan to offer services like childcare and educational courses to make activism and politics more accessible.
